CMA CGM ship lost 44 containers overboard during rough seas.
French shipping and logistics company CMA CGM reported that its ship “Benjamin Franklin” lost 44 containers due to rough weather off the coast of South Africa on Tuesday. There were no injuries, pollution, or major damage to the vessel, which remains seaworthy. An additional 33 containers were damaged.
The ship was traveling from Asia to Europe when it encountered unexpectedly strong weather. South African logistics company Trans-net had also suspended operations at some ports due to strong winds and waves.
